Her aim is to help implement evidence based, preventative, self care strategies in combination with Osteopathic Manual Therapy, Dry Needle Therapy, and Exercise Prescription, to help give you back control over your body and general wellbeing.
Osteopathy is a form of manual therapy used to help people recover from injury, pain, stiffness and dysfunction. Hands on techniques are used to help improve the body's structure, function and biomechanics. Treatment plans are tailored to the individual, following the taking of a comprehensive medical history, observation, assessment and testing.
Dry Needle Therapy is utilized in this clinic as an adjunct to Osteopathic Manual Therapy. Dry Needling myofascial trigger points can help to reduce pain, release muscle tension, improve blood flow and promote the body's self healing ability.
When you attend this clinic for treatment, you will most likely be given some forms of exercise to help you recover from your injury. This will aid in your short term recovery to get up and moving in your every day life, but it will also improve your long term management and prevention of further injury. Not to mention the general health and wellbeing benefits we know that exercise brings.

Dry Needle Therapy is used to assist in soft tissue healing, and can be of benefit in reducing pain, reducing muscle trigger point tension and improving blood flow to promote the body's normal tissue repair process. It involves introduction of thin, sterile, single use needles into myofascial trigger points and bands of muscular tightness. The needles are left in for a short amount of time and either undisturbed, or twisted, depending on what the Practitioner's treatment approach for that particular condition. Unlike a traditional sauna that use a stove and steam to heat the surrounding air, Infrared Saunas use lamps that emit specific infrared wavelengths of light, invisible to the human eye, but felt on the skin as heat to warm the body directly from the inside out. This means therapeutic heat effects can be felt at lower temperatures ( 45-65 degrees Celsius) compared to traditional Sauna temperatures ( up to 100 degrees Celsius) which leads to a more comfortable/ effective Sauna experience. There are 3 types of infrared heaters used in an Infrared Sauna. Near - Infrared (NIR): the shortest Infrared wavelength - used for skin and cell health. Mid - Infrared (MIR): a longer wavelength that can penetrate deeper into the body's soft tissue - used for vascular, anti-inflammatory and healthy weight loss effects. Far - Infrared: penetrating the deepest level of the body where toxins are stored, inducing a deep and detoxifying sweat. Research is suggesting infrared waves can penetrate into our body between 1-2 inches deep, potentially stimulating mitochondrial / cellular activity and promoting faster recovery for our aching muscles, joints and skin.
